Stamp information: Musician Van Cao (1923-1995), birth name Nguyen Van Cao, born on November 15, 1923 in Hai Phong, is a Vietnamese musician, painter, poet, and patriotic soldier. He is the author of the song "Tien quan ca" - the National Anthem of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. Belonging to the generation of pioneering musicians of romantic and resistance music, musician Van Cao composed many famous works such as Thien thai, Suoi mo, Truong ca Song Lo, Tien ve Hanoi... His compositions have had a guiding influence on the development of modern Vietnamese artistic life. He was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize for literature and art by the State in 1995 and many other noble Orders and Medals. To honor the contributions of musician Van Cao to Vietnamese music, the Ministry of Information and Communications issues the stamp set "Birth Centenary of musician Van Cao (1923-2023)" including 01 stamp, with the face value of 4,000 VND.
